The brick on the fireplace has been painted white pretty much since day 1. I attempted a whitewash of the brick tile hearth, but after years of fireplace use, it got nasty looking, and the paint started peeling.
So, I ordered a stencil from Cuttingedgestencils.com
Scrubbed the hearth, primed and chalk painted white. I then layed the stencil and carefully stenciled onto the hearth with black chalk paint.
Stenciling is not easy! I watched so many YouTube videos, and let me tell you, wow! You have to use very little paint on your roller or brush. Whatever you choose to use. I stenciled on and off all afternoon. I waited for the paint to dry before moving onto the next section on the hearth.
Once finished, I let dry, and then sealed it with polycrylic. I am extremely happy with the results.
XOXO- Amanda
